About me...

I was born in Leeds (West Yorkshire) and am the only son of Janet Brodie. I grew up in Bramley where i was educated at Raynville Primary, Sandford Secondary and Benjamin Gott High. School days, as your grandmother always tells you, were in-fact the best days! I have been ordered to mention a young lady who was a star when we were at school but now looks to have grown up into a fab mother, who still bugs the life out of me to this very day - Lisa Marsh (Feehan) YES that's you!

I left school at the tender age of 16 and joined the Royal Navy. Whilst serving i saw action in the Iran/Iraq conflict, 1st Gulf War and the 2nd Gulf War. I spent 7 months in the Falklands, a year in Hong Kong and visited destinations like, Flensburg, Gibraltar (of-course), Morocco, Rhodes, Corfu, Port Said, Rio, Crete, Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dahabi, Mombasa, Seychells, Ascension Island, Saudi Arabia and many more i can't even remember. Some bloody good times though let me tell you!

I met many good friends whilst serving and i would just like to mention afew who i can remember. Darbs (James Allen) many, many good times on the piss, Darjeeling Cricket Club in Dubai was excellent. I have tried to track Jim down but just no luck. Steve Bunbury (original hawkeye) who spotted the first missile on his radar during the first Gulf War. Shaffi, i can't remember his first name but he came from Hull. Platts (Mark Plater) again many, many good times and stories of what we got upto. Ohh, there are loads but i just can't remember the names.

I left in 1999 as a PO(AC) due to being diagnosed with MS in 1997, Please read my diary which i wrote from day to day whilst in the 1st Gulf War. It is just as it was and exactly translated from the diary that i still have.

Onwards.
Well I think this is the 12th year our site has been up an running. A lot has changed since I first built it, I have come through redundancy, we have been on our 1st family holiday to Dubai and instead of opening a coffee bar business in Wakefield we returned to the UK with an investment property in Dubai! But now it is 2012 and all has changed again... We managed to get rid of the property in Dubai before the crash and my MS has got worse.

I was medically discharged from the Navy in 1999 and worked my way up to a good position at Yorkshire Post as Sales Manager on a Farming magazine but then I got made redundant. We'd already bought a 5 bed detached house on the back of my good job as the thought process was to move up the ladder quickly so that we could come down later and have some money.

It is now 2012 and my thoughts have changed once again and if you are lucky enough to be reading this then I want to share something with you. Have you ever felt that something is missing in your life but simply can't tell what it is? Well I did but something happened and came into my life that made sence and as what always happens in life is that circumstances came that i watched a film called 'The Secret'. I was sat there in floods of tears and suddenly everything made sense.

I now focus on the 'Law of Attraction' everyday and have regained my faith. I know everything is going to be ok! I know with certainty that my marriage will recover from the 7 year hitch and I know that good things will come into our life's!! I just need to focus and try to maintain my belief.

I do find it harder than you probably would as I do get down about my MS. I do find day to day life hard and when the fatigue kicks in i find it very difficult to put a smile on my face which really makes Jill angry!! She says things to me that really hurt but I really can't do anything about it - its just what it is and I have to work around those times.

If you are a like minded individual and believe everything happens for a reason then you will also believe that everything in your life is there because of the thoughts you have had. Ever being in a rush and needed to get to a appointment on time.... RUSH RUSH but the lights all seem to be on RED or theres a traffic jam - some people call it SODS LAW but its the law of attraction - your thinking 'I dont want to be late' so that is what will happen!
